John has had a long, successful career as a CEO, CFO, consultant, and deal-maker. In addition to starting and running companies, he has participated as a buyer, seller, or intermediary in over 30 business acquisitions in the past 20 years. John works with clients as an M&A and valuation advisor, and often serves as an acting CFO to help clients build value within their business. John has served on the board of the Austin Chapter of Texas Association of Business Brokers, and is an active speaker on valuations and M&A.

Before he started ADG, John co-founded and led Austin Data Systems (ADS) for 15 years, one of the most successful systems integrators in Texas. One ADS division was acquired by a national technical service firm funded by venture capital. The other ADS division was acquired by a leading vertical market software company. Prior to ADS, John was CFO/Controller for a regional rent-to-own company. Previously, John worked in public accounting for a large regional CPA firm.

John is married and has two children and two grandchildren. He enjoys the outdoors, especially golfing, fishing, hunting, and hiking.
