In this blog series I’m describing ten common mistakes that we’ve seen in the M&A deal process. Every entrepreneur or executive who plans to buy or sell a company should avoid these common mistakes to increase their chances for success.
4. Getting lost in the details
Many times negotiations get stuck because minor details are perceived as huge issues by one of the parties. Focusing on the “trees” might cause the parties to forget about the “forest” (the benefits of doing the deal) and cause the process to go on too long, risking the entire deal.
